hi. i'd like to know if a copy writer and an article writer means the same? or what's the difference. hoping you can share some tips. thanks.
An article writer informs via the written word, on the other hand... A copywriter sells goods, products and services via the written word. http://ezinearticles.com/?The-Real-Difference-Between-Copywriting-and-Article-Writing&id=1540524
Mark's analogy hit the nail on the head. I have looked through the EZA link in your signature, so I'll attempt to explain it in terms that are applicable to you. The articles you write and submit to EZA are just that - article writing/marketing, call it what you will. These articles are mainly to provide snippets of information, that will either answer a reader's question, increase the reader's interest in the subject, or lead them to another page with further information on their chosen topic. Let's say your article leads to a "landing page" promoting a relevant product or service. Your landing page is where your copywriting skills come in. You are no longer providing information on the specific topic, your main aim here is to pre-sell, or even in some cases sell, the product or service you are promoting. Your "landing page" is intended to grab the reader by the hand (or the balls from reading Perry's post!), prick their interest in the product or service you are offering. In fact the landing page (copywriting) should leave them in no doubt that this product/service is something they must have, they need, they can't live without! By the time they have finished reading they have their credit card in hand and are simply looking for a "PAY HERE" or "BUY NOW" sign. Cheers James
Article writing is geared toward informing readers about whatever you want to inform them about. The key is that the purpose of articles is to inform people of something and for enticing people to visit your site. Copywriting is more for writing in a way that is promotional; with the intent on selling a product or service. For example a product description would be written with the intent to sell and therefore is highly promotional; where as an article about the product would be to inform without being biased about the product.
