Copy content from drop down menu

Hi

I would like to create a list of car makers.

I look at the kbb blue book and they have the list of car makers in the drop down menu. is it illegal if I just copy the list ? or I should contact them ?

If it's just an A-Z list of cars and there is nothing unique about it, there is no way of knowing if you copied it or compiled the list yourself.

If we're talking about copying the code of a javascript dropdown menu with a custom design, be careful with that.
