Cops

So I visited this polive forum website and posted a story about some traffic tickets I got recently. I sugned up for the forum and, as I always do, uploaded my Avatar, add my signature links, etc.

10 minutes after I join, I get a PM from a moderator demanding that I remove the links from signature, writing:

"...We do not allow that sort of shilling of other sites here."

So I reply back:

"'shiling?' I have been on the Internet for many years and I am a member of many forums. I always add links to my signature and I don't see what is wrong with it. This is a real first: I've never had anyone ask me to remove my links from my signature. If the site operators have a problem with it then why don't they add a note about it in the forum rules so that new signups can know the deal? Why not disable hyperlinking in the signature which is easily done with the VBulletin software? Hmmmm...

Well, do what you will. If you don't like my signature then I guess you have the power to change it."

"I don't care how many forums you're on. This one's ours and you can either conform to our standards or go back to your other forums."
