    Must have been an out of shape criminal. The Segway only goes 12.5 mph and it wouldn't have the cornering ability of a person. I'd like to try to run away from one of these someday, I'm pretty sure I could do it.

    No, the article said that one of the criminals had briefly out ran it, but couldn't keep up the pace. The cop just had to follow him until the runner tired out.

    BTW - if you get a chance to rent a Sedgeway,I highly recommend it. They don't look like much, but they're awesome!
