Doing well in MSN's search is fine and dandy, but what good is it if it doesn't bring much traffic? One of my sites is #3 there on a term that Overture says was searched over 400,000 times in March. Yet, according to my stats, the site as received a grand total of 11 clicks thus far this month, for the trouble. Somewhat of a hollow victory if you ask me.
I have one site which is #1 for 3 VERY competitive terms in msn.. you wouldn't believe it to see the traffic on those pages though
I'm considering the vault. I took down my coop ads because I felt they were the reason for the huge penalties my site was hit with back in February. My numbers are finally coming back up and I think permalinks would be more beneficial than churning links. I'm still on the fence, but leaning towards trying the vault.
If your on the fence mopacfan I think you should have ago with a small, less important site. The interface looks quite daunting if you are used to co-op, as there are many factors you can adjust, but don't let this put you off it is well worth it for the peace of mind of getting static links. There are success stories cropping up on various forums, but its hard to tell if these are legit or just referral bait.. [edit.. so she says with her own sig lol [/edit]
Gotta say, I'm seeing small results so far, but something is better than nothing... Increased max links per day so hopefully things will start speeding up a bit.
I need to take the time to look into it further. Do you have a site using the vault I can view to see how the links integrate with your site?
we are so used to seeing the kaboom effect from coop ... or we were used to these effects anyway. with LV it's a slow, steady, daily climb ... i consider that a very good thing ... coop is too much too soon (assuming you have substanial weight ... and most of us playing the game hard all have weight)
EXACTLY!! This is the WHOLE point. The search for a solution that works with G .... everything else is irrelanant once you've seen the difference between #1 on G versus #1 on yahoo & msn combined!
I do Crap template though - I wouldn't be surprised if the footer was messed up in your browser (What you using?)...
Don't see "Linux Web Hosting" on the page or in the source? Are we talking about http://www.softalien.com/forums/ ? [EDIT] - I see them on the welcome page. . -jay
Way down at the bottom in small font: That's what fooled me... the first few are SE's navigation links...
That's the beauty of LV. It's a slow, steady, natural accumulation of links. If you had around 65K of weight (before the weight change) and were used to seeing back link results in MSN that showed a few thousand links over a few days, you'll probably have hard time adjusting in the early going. LV works in a pyramid scheme when delivering links. They start to put links on low PR pages at first (PR0-1) and then slowly build up to PR2, PR3, etc. So you won't see back link data showing on MSN even though your control panel may read that you have 100+ links for a given ad. Once you start hitting the higher PR pages, you'll start to see more and more links show up in MSN. It's slow and steady, so hopefully it can win the race.
Dear Vanilla Ice, Please don't call me a liar before you fully read my post. Then you will see that it is indeed, not "wack" In no way did I say msn doesn't count the coop links. I stated it doesn't count them like it USE to. Therefore I personally do not have the same results for my highly competitve keywords. It is still very useful for my less competitive keywords. Please read more carefully before you call other members liars...afterall calling someone a liar that truely is not is "wack".
Well I joined about a month ago. I have 2000 links placed on PR0 to PR3 sites that I can see. As most are telling you, this is slow and steady growth unlike DP. The Vaultage (weight) your site is awarded upon joining is actually consumed as link aquisitions are formed. It is too premature to form any opinions yet. I can confirm that links are being distributed daily. I just can't create enough ads to consume my vaultage. This is all about slow and steady. I believe this will win the race, long term. At the same time most of my weight currently remains here...for now
that seems to be the double edged sword of LV, links are added slowly so they get their full worth with G...however, patience will be needed in order to see results, but I suppose that patience is always needed in SEO
Yeah, my vaultage isn't quite as high due to the fact that I can't get any of my pages that are using Blogger to run the LV code. I got the Co-op code working, so I just need to sit down this weekend and figure it all out via htaccess. I'm about 628 links or so right now with 989 vaults used with 6 total ads in rotation. MSN back links are slowly starting to show, however they're all on PR0-3 pages so far I think. I need more referrals so I can see where all my ads are placed
