Ok, recently the coop network has been fluxing weight alot on my count, and now I have no base weight, and no ranks or caches on google. After doing some research and I found that with my weight fluxing on the network, it was fluxing my backlinks alot, and this triggered google. Now I have lost all my weight, I have lost all my ranks, I have lost all my backlinks, and alot of my traffic. I am not against the network, I just wanted to warn everyone of this risk.
This has happened to me a couple of times. I'll get dropped completely, but then a couple weeks later suddenly I'll be back at the top of the rankings. It's weird.
screw google, this tool is bringing traffic in from the other search engines for me. I have gotten alot of benefit from yahoo and msn. Google could drop me completely right now and it really wouldnt effect me as the traffic increase from the other searches far outway what I was ever getting from google.
OK, ATLien, I don't know when your weight dropped AND your listings on Google disappeared, but what if someone has a mysterious weight drop to zero across 3 sites that lasts for 72+ hours and yet their listings in Google are still good? (that'll be me ) It does suggest maybe holding on a bit longer to see what happens before coming to any quick conclusions... maybe you've done something else to drop you from big G?
Well to let you know the coop network works off of google results, so with no indexes on google, I can't get any weight, and the network is worthless to me. I wish the network looked at other search engines too.
I had a look on the forum and to be honest, I don't see much content. With the sigs you allow you have nothing but duplicate content. All threads are 90% sig. The majority of posts I just read are 1 line of approx 10 words and then the same sig under it and member info to the left of the post. And this on 6K pages pretty much all the same. How is that quality content? Allow just 2 lines of sigs and tone down on the member info like here on DP I'd say. Your forum is one big template for duplicate content IMO. Why don't you create some real-content pages? Off the homepage I can't find any links to static pages on LP pictures and all those other words you try to rank for. I assume you just aimed Linkin Park Pictures anchor text links to the Photo forum and tried to rank that page? I don't think that is good practise. Create a full page mostly-static page for those words you want to rank for and see how you go. If I was a SE looking for quality content websites, I wouldn't want your site in my index either.
Your titles are too similar on the forumdisplay.php's as well. SE's look at your site page-by-page. Each should be different compared to the previous and next one. Your titles are similar (not talking about the post's) and your content doesn't differ enough per-page IMO. I ahve to say, it looks the bollocks but SE's couldn't care less how it looks or how other people find the looks. Another point I noticed (I know it's hardly something you can do something about) is that there's hardly any grammatically or spelling-wise correct English spoken on the forum. It's all slang. Again something that makes it difficult for the SE's to know what's it all about. With just links, you can't sustain high rankings. Google bombing may work to a degree but obviously it isn't in the SERPs best interests if something ranks high for a word that doesn't even show on the page. Just can't be relevant. Google got a lot pickier lately and smarter too. I think they will do anything to keep their index high-quality-content.
most odd, my keywords have been fluxing also mega style the last week or two, but i am NOT even in the co-op network... what i am trying to point out is that it happens sometimes... why it HAS to be the network when it happens to other sites is beyond me... give it time and see what happens. could be that... that damm worm thing that was hitting forums a while back made it so your server was responding too slow for goggle to do a deep crawl last time just as easy as any other reason.... could be just google going off "forum only" sites just as easy... IF you were banned from google why would i sill see a pr5 for you index page ? and 6,490 backlinks ?
Exactly. I've fluctuated, sometimes ALOT, in my keyword placement ever since I started watching it. That includes sites in the network & not in the network.
I have sites that disappear and re appear in google all the time and have nothing to do with the coop
I have a better way - I have a mod for VB Disable viewing signatures for visitors This makes it so visitors (search engine spiders included) dont see the signatures - which also saves bandwidth -
Plus - I dont think its the coop - your other site is still indexed in google - and you still have your PR, Backlinks and Adsense ads. Whatever it is - Its probably fixable - Any chance it could be a copyright beef with the band Linkin Park? -
