    Hello DP,

I'm looking for a cool, urban kind of design for my rap/hip hop site. I had one guy on here start working on it, but haven't heard from him in almost a week! so i need to keep the wagon rolling.

Here's the site right now: http://i51.tinypic.com/fuyh34.png

And here's the banner he started to work on:

The tutorial he was working off of was this one that i found on google: http://www.photoshopstar.com/graphics/cool-urban-style-logo/

Aside from the text, i'm quite unsure what exactly i want. That's why i figured i'd leave it up to the creativity of you guys. I'd like to incorporate music/mixtapes (cassette icon) in or around the design as well, since that's what our site revolves around now. I just know that it will need to be a cool design that will fit right into the template above. So you can look at the template demo to try to mold the banner to the appropriate look.

The final banner will need to be around 225px(w) by 100px(h)

Looking to pay no more than $20 for this. If your work requires more pay than that, PM to let me know what you can do. if you have any questions, let me know. otherwise, can't wait to see what you all have in mind!

The tutorial would serve better because the one above was an attempt made from the tutorial. Either way, I like how the font color and style is on the demo above. "Off The" (white) and "Ave" (light blue- #5f93b4). Everything else on it is whatever. The banner might have to be played with until perfection, color and/or positioning.

    Anymore questions, let me know!

^ Hey, that's pretty bad ass! Could you use the font in the tutorial though?? Could you also adjust it to fit in the provided space? I've only got 225x100 space to work with and those dripping effects won't work.

Personally i think when it comes to graffiti, you shouldn't use readymade fonts, just doesnt look right. But hey, whatever you like man!

Understood but i don't like those graffiti fonts. they're too commonly associated with "hip hop" and to be honest, my site is more rap than anything. But as for the size, you can continue making the demo big, i just meant that the final banner size will need to be 225x100.

So, here's the revisions i'd like to see:

-Could you make the text closer, like the demo in my first post?
-Is there a reason why the "FF" in "OFF" look different from the one in my first post? Could you make those f's look like the demo in my first post?
-Could you omit those exclamation marks and city bg and add something more related to music? maybe some equalizer bars or lines in the back of the text.
-Could you change the color of "AVE" to #5f93b4

Interested to see what you come up with.

Text looks great as far as color and inner shadows, but i'm unsure if i want the text on 2 separate lines. It looks good, just unsure about that right now. Could you make a separate one with the text all on one line? Could you also change the f's in "OFF" to match that of the demo in my first post? And could you also add something music related to the banner? Right now, it's kind of lonely. Spruce it up a little bit if you could.

The "ff" looked like that, because the font was like that. I changed it, along with few other things:

sorry for the late response people.

@KREV: could you take off that wrap that starts at the "O" and ends at the bottom of "Ave"? Could you try to match your f's as close as possible to the f's in the original demo in my first post? Can you make the color of "Off The" white and the border around the entire text black, like the above contestants? And with the border, could you make the contour of it conform with the text better, like the above contestants? Could you replace that record with a mixtape (cassette) icon?

@Animman: i don't like those f's, they don't fit well with the rest of the font. Could you also try to match your f's as close as possible to the f's in the original demo in my first post? Also, the design is too big now with the DJ under the text now. Could you go the route the KREV is going with his background images?

@LoserXP: I like your background wrap and the text but could you add the crown, something music related and the mixtape (cassette) icon as requested? Could you also try to match your f's as close as possible to the f's in the original demo in my first post? Could you also make the text on one line?

^ hey that's pretty good. I like the font you used for the f's. Could you add a background wrap like LoserXP's. I compared his to the template and that kind of banner sat right.

nice. i like how you have the stars and underline under the text. But could you try another font for the f's? Could you also place the crown on the other side of the text and place the mixtapes in the back, where the crown currently is? i'd like to see how that looks.

you can also make the width a little bigger, maybe 10px or so.. so that there's a gap in between the beginning and end of the text.

I had to make the text size smaller in order to add more space in between the texts.
I've tweeted the banner as well, feedbacks are welcomed.
