The latest 'Death & Taxes 2007' has been published. Strictly speaking, this is a graphics and multimedia related thread and should be in that forum but no doubt there will be lots of arguing so I might as well save the Mods a job and put it in here from the beginning. http://www.thebudgetgraph.com/ Wow! A quick look and from a budget of $983 billion, $633 billion is spent on military spending and $350 billion on non-military! How sucky is that?
Ha ha, look at the dept of homeland security.. $3.42 BILLION spent on "Preparedness". That made me laugh.. The amount that the US spend on "Defence" is incredible. National debt: $9.35 TRILLION dollars. Personally, I would have stopped borrowing at maybe $1 Trillion, but this is up 7%! Sorry if this sounds rude, it is not meant to be. Sometimes all you can do is laugh though
lol, you forget that our security/defense spending also covers Australia's, Europes and Asia's asses, day after day, year after year. a thank you is in order.
When does the database that shows earmarks come online? The one where you can search for pork projects and what senators voted for them? This is interesting, but its far too general to be of much use.
