I love google just as much as you do esidyo, but lets be positive and hope that a little competition is always good on Google and us. ;-)
Google still the best. However, i try to use cuill before and found that the search result is quite good. It might be one of the best search engine in future if they keep on improve on it.
How did Cuil build up their database anyway? I never submitted my wholesale directory and it comes up in their results.
Even though they've removed the filthy images from a lot of searches, they're still bringing up porn sites for stuff like "cartoon dvd". Even with the safe search on, I get porn on a lot of really general searches.
Yes, Very true, The same message i am trying to give to everyone who is promoting Cuil here. If it deserves, it will shine, but just with such buzz marketing, nothing is going to happen other than initial juice.
let's wait and see, people have been saying this for years about all sorts of search engines, let's see if potential turns into reality.
Cuil, pronounced as cool , is an old Irish word for knowledge and is the brainstorm of husband and wife team of former Google employee, Tom Costello and Anna Patterson. The duo have an impressive combination of experience in Internet search
Did they both work for Google? Doesn't Google require you to sign a "non-compete form" when joining their company?
I just did a few searches using Cuil, and I was pretty disappointed in the results.. Quite a few spammy, keyword stuffed pages from the same URL, turning up in the results. I guess they will sort it out eventually. But I think maybe they should have worked on the spammy stuff a bit more before they created all the hype. Cheers James
One thing I noticed is that Cuil.com doesn't have any advertisements or sponsored areas which many people may like. Maybe that's just their strategy until their search engine gets off the ground.
Y does no one understand..nothing can beat google. nothing ever can nothing ever will.. everyone in the world knows about google search. --sean
I'm sure many people thought that way about Yahoo and Alta Vista but now they're trying to play catch-up.
