anybody have any experience with adsense and cooking? PLan on making a cooking site, not a blog, and adding a little adsense... but I think most of ads will be affiliate for this kind of thing... Hopefully move on to sell my own line but who knows

i have a cooking section in my forums. It does ok, but nothing great - there is a lot of competition. but if that's what you do, and you know the subject, then go with it.. If you're just looking for high paying niche's/keywords, keep looking.

how well does your forum do comparatively... Im gonna have a forum section for it but that is gonna be very minor... also do you have a way to keep track of demogaphs for your site... Im trying to go for younger crowd with this cooking site.

I think it's fine. Doesn't pay great, but not too bad and there are loads of people who search for recipes all the time, so it's not too hard to get decent traffic.

It's the one part of my site where I've never got affiliates to work. Perhaps I haven't tried hard enough, but adsense seems to do better than everything from clickbank to CJ cooking utensils. I think maybe people are always looking for free recipes and don't intend to get their cash out...

I dont have any way of tracking my demographics.. and actually, it does not matter to me how old my visitors are, or if they're M/F - as long as they come, that's all i care about..
The forums section of my site does horrible with Adsense (as do most forums).. i'm talking probably less than $100/month from my forums area. But i have found that Kontera does GREAT in the forums section - averaging around $1,000/month, so you should give that a try..
