Does Amazon store cookies on people who bought through your affiliate program? Here is the senatio: User comes in the 1st time through your link, and doesn't buy. One week later, user types in the amazon main website url, and buys from there. My question is: Do you get credits for that? My other question is: Can you use your associate ID to generate sales in Australia, France, Germany...? Thanks
Hassaryx -- Excellent question. I have provided a thorough answer to your question in my blog on affiliate marketing and Amazon Associates: AffiliateBrand.com: Does Amazon store cookies on people who bought through your affiliate program? --> http://blog.affiliatebrand.com/2006/10/does_amazon_sto.html <-- To answer your second question: Amazon has programs in the US, Canada, Japan, Germany, UK, and France (not in Australia). You need to have a separate Associates ID in each of these locales, so you must apply for each program's associates program separately. Thanks for taking the time to explain how Amazon.com uses their cookies! In the past there have been questions concerning what Amazon considers an order. Would you please explain this procedure. Does payment need to be made first? I ask because some orders never ship and others are refunded.
myhart, I posted a detailed answer to your question on my blog: What does Amazon Consider as the Order? --> http://blog.affiliatebrand.com/2006/10/what_does_amazo.html <-- Hope that answers it!
