I'm an adsense convert, so please bear with me as this affiliate stuff is new to me. Some basic questions about cookies.

    * How long does a cookie last? - If it's different per site, what is a typical length?

    * Do repeat purchases count? - If someone buys today, and comes back again tomorrow, will they both count?

    Thanks

Cookies vary from advertiser to advertiser. Apple Store, for example, is about three days, while a lot of the finance advertisers will have a longer cookie, say 30 or 60 days.

I'm beginning to think it doesn't really matter, since you want to make the sale immediately, anyway. Lots of users clear cookies frequently.

I don't know of any advertisers that don't pay per sale; especially if they pay for sales and not leads, so, yes you should get the second commission as well, provided the cookie has not expired.

Thanks. I had dabbled in Amazon awhile back, and I think there's was 24hrs and no 2nd commission. This sounds much better. Granted, some people clear their cookies quite often, but a good portion not involved in the webmaster field like us probably don't even know what cookies are. :D

All advertisers are different. Just check on the advertiser's detail page.
