I didn’t even know you could couple a PSD file with a HTML file. Well, I wouldn’t have use for it, because the layouts I work with are better done manually, most of them are templates or go to programming for additional functionality. All the best of luck to you though.

I know that Macromedia Fireworks can work well with Dreamweaver. I haven't used it in a while but you can open a PSD in Fireworks and slice it and then export to Dreamweaver.

Yes you can but the coding for input fileds like text and that has to be done manually VIA Notepad or Wordpad or some known programes like Frontpage , Dreamweaver and those type but best of luck to you with it

I have not yet seen a tool that does this job the right way... Image Ready can cut stuff automatically and generate an html with the right tables and cells, but you end up with so much stuff that you need to clean up and such a hard table layout to work with, that in the end you will spend more time fixing things, than you would spend slicing the psd manually :)

I agree with you. Best off slicing manually and coding it...

Or you could just pay somebody to code it for you. Some people will code for as little as $20 these days.

This thread is 675 days old. Why do you feel the need to spam the forums with your link, i think they have probably found out how to do it by now.

Agreed! If someone were to do this on the Sitepoint forum, their post would have been deleted and the user given a warning and penalty point.

After so many penalties, the user is banned from the forum.

I hate to dredge up an old thread, but this particular thread is on the front page of Google for "PSD to HTML" which would make it quite relevant to people who offer this type of service like you. Myself included. This being the forum that it is I would think people would understand how this thread could be a viable promotional tool.

Use image ready, as mentioned, it does the trick and allows you to optimze the gra[hics for faster loads..

if you dont have photoshop you can use GIMP (open-source that processes PSD) but there is a learning curve.

For the web master on a budget, there is http://psd2cssonline.com as well. It's perfect for just getting a .psd design into a web page, and it's free. It won't do all the SEO and whatnot that a paid consultant would do for you, but it's free. Oh, and it's free.

psd2cssonline, if your tool can actually do psd to html as well as a html person can, I'd guarantee you have a market there. For now, I'd depend on my skills as a programmer to do this stuff ;)

Thank you in advance for any help you can provide. I am editing psd web templates in PS by adding my graphics, photos, etc. but my question is how should the text that comes with these templates (Lorem Ipsum etc.) be edited?

I'm thinking that if the text is edited in PS, ..sliced and saved for web, PS will create the html code for the graphics which does nothing for keyword rich content.

Or should the psd text layer be removed in PS so that the text can later be put in with DW.

Thanks again, I have not been able to find the answer to this anywhere.
