Converting Image to black and white

I have a jpg image and I want convert it to black and white image can anyone tell me how can I do it in photoshop?

quickest way -
1. ctrl-U
2. reduce saturation completely

u are done!

 

You can also use Image>Mode>Greyscale

 

Image>Adjustments>Desaturate

or Shift+Ctrl+U

 

Choose Image > Adjustments > Black & White. Photoshop performs a default grayscale conversion based on the color mix in the image..hope that helps
