I'm thinking about converting my directory from cplinks to phpld.

How much work do you think will be involved?

Something I can do in a few hours?

Will phpld run on my shared hosting account?

Phpld runs fine at hostgator as standard, obviously if you have big plans for it then nothing can guarantee anything running at a host but in general its fine hosted there, very popular host choice.

I recommend you continue to look for another directory script. My only experience with phpld didn't turn out so pretty good. Arrogance and condescension I don't need and I don't think anyone should put up with the kind of crap they gave me.

You pay for their script and you have to pay again to get support. You can join their forum, but do not expect to be treated well unless you either kiss a lot of butt or pay more money. That is the feeling I got. Popular script or not, I want more respect than that as a potential customer.

    Keep looking.
