    Hi friends,

I am here confused with the concept of converting dynamic URLs to static. Is it good when i use the mod_rewrite for conversion.

    Using mod_rewrite,I can convert

    site.com/page.php?category=2&product=54

    to

    site.com/sandwiches/rueben-sandwich/

But is it acceptable by the search engines?? Please explain this in detail

The easiest way to rank in google is by choosing a domain name that includes the keyword you want to rank for - much more powerful than creating a page with keyword in the title.
So yes, url is much more important than title for SEO

2nd URL is called search engine friendly url and it is also good for visitors to remember it. But before redirecting make sure you create a 301 redirect from old url to new url otherwise it will give a 404 error which is no way search engine friendly....

Static URLs have an advantage in that the keyword is in it and also in sligtly speeding up your site as less calls are made to the database.

The second URL is more search engine friendly than the first one because it contains your keyword.
