    Hey guys,

I need your help with converting AVI files to FLASH. Ive got an online entertainment section to do for a customer but most of the videos clips are in AVI format and I want to convert them to flash so they stream similar to youtube.

Its eating up bandwith pretty bad and putting a big strain on our server. I was told that switching it to FLASH would help big time.

I appreciate if anyone can help me with this.

    thanks

You can try converting with something called, "Super"... it may look butt ugly... but it works pretty good.
    afterdawn.com/software/video_software/video_encoders/super.cfm

Or maybe you can create yourself an account with photobucket and upload the AVI and then download a flash file ?

    Hi Danny,

Riva FLV Encoder, in my opinion, is the best FREE option for this. It a basic program that is made for converting video files (AVI to FLV). Ive used this in the past to convert an AVI to FLV for a flash video player. They dont put a watermark on it either. Its a simple program without all the BS. You can download it here:

PM me the the address of the files so I can download them,
I can do it for you but I will need you to tell me what size (width x Hight) and quality (Bit Rate) you want them in.. I use Sorenson Squeeze.. so its a matter of loading them all in to the program, set the quality/size and click the squeeze button.
Here is an example of a high bit rate one
If there are not to many then I can do it for you as a Crissy present. If you have hundreds or are planning to have lots to do in the future then you may want to look at buying a program like Sorenson Squeeze.

    Cheers

I suggest downloading Camtasia 3.0. It's free as of recent developments, and converts any video to SWF or FLV or whatever you want it to be.

Thanks from me too mate.. I had a link to download Camtasia Studio 3 on my free sample page (page 2) but had not bothered to get it because I had Sorenson Squeeze, Glad I looked into it because this camtasia does screen captures and a few other nifty things...
I am glad you reminded me to get it..

BTW this offer is only valid until the 7th of Jan.. So if you want it, you better grab it now, and fill out a request for a key. (you get the key straight away).. You can also get there Snagit program for free too, I am not sure what Snagit does but... I thought I may as well spend twice as much and get them both:D

    Cheers
