Converting AVI into FLV without losing much quality.

I have a bunch of AVI files I want to publish to a website, and would like to convert them to FLV to stream through users browsers. I'm unsure of what settings to use, or mostly even how to go about doing this.

If anyone can point me in the direction of a guide or can give me some tips themselves, i'll be very grateful. Thanks. :)

The ultimate tool for converting videos is only "ffmpeg".
You can download it for XP,Vista or 7 with the alias Winff. Its easy and very fast.
Im working with it since 2 jears.

FFMpeg uses H.263. You need either H.264 or On2 codec for best FLV quality. Here is a streaming video software who gives a free batch flv converter with their software.

Not any affiliate link by the way.

one of the best video covnerters I have seen that is free is MediaCoder - lots of options and will do almost anything! Give it a try - otherwise just use the adobe media encoder (if you only want flvs)

Personally, I use AVS video converter. Its a commercial solution and cost about $50 US dollars, but its been well worth it. And, you can convert the video to all types of formats and not just FLV.

I have tried a lot of those free scripts, some of them are good, and some of them not so good. Finally, I decided to buy a program and stop using the free stuff.
