    Hi,

any idea on the best practice to convert a forum to wordpress ?

The first post would be the wordpress post and the rest of the posts would be the comments.

    Thanks in advance,
    NM

It's very possible and not that hard to accomplish. You will just need to write a script to do it.

you just need a forum theme modification.
make a forum theme where the first post is also shown in the thread list.

Why do you want to make the change? It's possible but I think there are some much easier options out there.

I need to make the change, I don't want to :)

    So no ideas ?

I found a few ways but it seems a lot harder then I thought.

If the forum is MyBB I will first have to convert to SMF convert to phpBB convert tp bbPress convert to Wordpress :)

    No easier way ? :)

I suggest that you contact a theme designer, they will change the layout of the forum to look like a blog.
I have seen this done in smf they have a bloggy theme.

I don't need the look of the blog, I need the functionality of it ...

Seems a lot harder than I thought though ....

You should have some knowledge on codes. It must be a tough experience.
