Convert product graphic to header?

    Hey there:

I read some posts about how to create a header that involves creating one from scratch with various programs. Is there a way to cheat and take a graphic (e.g. a product graphic) and use it to create a header (easily). e.g. just by selectinmg the graphic and hitting a button that stretches it to a header size. And to create easiuly a transparent background graphic for the same page?

Obviously I am trying to avoid having to learn a lot of functions of a program and looking for a shortcut. Although I don't mind putting in the time I wan't to concentrate on marketing. It's either find a quick way to do it or pay one of you guys....and I wan't to MAKE some money before I start hiring experts :)

    Example page:www.keywordeliteguide.com (product, header, background)

    Any recommendations appreciated

    KJ

Well there is no easy or magical way. You will need some kind of graphics software to make the files that you want. There are free programs you can download, such as Gimp and Inkscape. With those you could make all of the graphics that you need but will have to learn how to use them which could take some time.
Since time is money, which is cheaper ? Paying someone else to make it for you or taking the time to learn how to do it yourself ?

ummm, that was confusing. but yh, you kind need to learn some sort of basics with any graphics program. but if you want a slam bam solution, use paint.

    1. create a screenshot using print screen and paste it into a brand new window in paint
    2. use the marquee tool (top left) to select your product
    3. copy the selection to another paint window
    4. add some text with paint
    5. scale the painting window to size
    6. header graphic voilia

BTW, this is the BAREST minimum i could think of, and i mean BARE. the example you provided used a graphics program FOR SHURE. There are free progs out there, but you'll still have to learn a little, but then there are always tutorials out there that could show you what to do step by step (tutorialized.com)

or you could pay someone on here to do it for you... either way... you'll get a header. If you REALLY dont want to learn AT ALL, I'll do the header for you, FOR FREE. (just let me add it to my portfolio :))

    What you do, is

Create several screenshots of products and put in a folder in the form of jpeg, png, or gif images

    What developer will do, is

Write you a script that will randomly pick the image and make header out of it, once one header is created for a certian image, it iwll not be recreated. Then you can paste the script path as image url in header.

Let me know if you require such thing.

    regards

I think Inkscape is the easiest option. It's fast and saves a lot of time. If you want to see how to use it, check codervods.com/VideoPage.aspx?ID=1179&&category=CSS
