    Hi All

If I use adwords to send people to my site, where they could click on a CJ advert to buy something - how do I track this conversion. I'm sure this is answered elsewhere but I can't see it....

    thanks in advance!

The user have clicked on your ad and now is on your page.

do you want to track when the user just click on the CJ advertiser ad or when he buy something on the advertiser site?

I'd recommend Google Analytics, it is great. If you havent got an analytics account, use the tools that are present in adwords, they are not that bad too.

So how would someone using adwords to drive traffic to a CJ advertiser track sales?

you need to track sales manually by the "SID" report tag on CJ

if you want to track sales on keyword level for example, add for each keyword a destination url with a different sid:

    my keyword 1 ** www.anrdoezrs.net/click-123456-789123?sid=my+keyword+1

    keyword example 2 ** www.anrdoezrs.net/click-123456-789123?sid=keyword+example+2

so when a sale is generated you know the keyword that generated the sale on column "SID"

take a look your past detail reports: probably you SID columns are all blank

If I were to follow your advice wouldn't I be violating the TOS by creating a destination url that differs my display url?

No, that's the whole point of having seperate display and destination urls.

Could http://www.mysite.com/?sid=abc be used as well. The other format doesn't seem to work.

The destination url can't link to a domain that's differnet from your display url, the two, according to the tos, have to link to the same domain.

So, if I were to use
    my keyword 1 ** www.anrdoezrs.net/click-123456-789123?sid=my+keyword+1

as my destination url and mywebsite.com as my display url. Unless they make exceptions for affiliates I would be violating the tos, no?

Using the example you posted, yes, you would be in violation of the TOS.

Do a search for Reftrack. It logs referrer information and inserts the id into the tracking variable using pattern matching.

I'm soon going to reach my link posting threshold with these answers!
