I'm having a lot of confusion with conversion tracking and would GREATLY appreciate help from someone who can clarify. Soooooo..... With my PPC Adwords campaign, my bidding price changes a great deal in the first month. I start my bidding high and lower it. I can't really eliminate keywords right away based on profitability because a keyword may initially cost me $50 for 25 clicks in the beginning. (this is because of my bidding strategy) That said, when it comes to looking at conversions and deciding on the winning and losing keywords, I get very indecisive. It's hard to make a decision based on price because my bid prices fluctuate so much in the first few months of that keyword's life. Should I just eliminate keywords based on clicks and converts? In other words... If a keyword gets 200 clicks and no resulting sales should I eliminate it? Is the number 200 too small or does it sound about right? Should I get stricter and say 100 clicks and no sale = elimination? or maybe go more lenient and make it 300 and no sale = elimination? I think I'm getting anxiety over this whole decision making process. ) Thanks in advance! Cheers, Jay
Probably you are targeting most competitive keywords, I think focusing more on the keywords of your niche through Adword geolocation may work for your.
Hey Woofy.....In my case i look at a 3 month history....if a word is performing poorly i wil either adjust it or completely dump it ....so 200-300 clicks seems like more than enough of a chance for the keyword. Dump it and spend you money on the high conversion ones. But if over this 3 month period...if a word has one or 32 conversions and is still under my cost per conversion goal...or close to it...I will keep it around!
How much do you spend for 200 clicks? How much do you get from them? If you make more money than you spend, then keep it
It's annoying to wait out unfortunately. This is because many keywords will only get 1 click a day. So I need to wait 3/4 of a year to find out whether or not that keyword needs to be eliminated? I'm sure there's a faster way people evaluate their keywords, no? -Jay
