Hey guys, I'm pretty new to ecommerce, but if I'm understanding this correctly, the average conversion rate for a site is about 2%, and the average pay per lick is around 15 cents so it would cost around $7.50 to get a customer to buy something from your site, is this about right?

Do any of you have higher conversion rates?

This is all trial and error - you can still get them in around 2% and they won't buy but it really does depend on sooooooooo many factors! I'm making profit after completely re-vamping my store, it's not just all about the clicks. Price has got to win, looks have got to win and then the ad has to win! Go have a look at my store over at allforme.com.au and then my competition (urghhh!) discountsextoys.com.au - think you'll see now why people are buying from me!

I honestly think the one real thing that will convert people is the look and feel of your store - if it doesn't look like a professional well run establishment no ones ever going to buy a thing from you. I got mine professionally developed after a few very dubious attempts and Im easily clearing profit and have covered the build cost already (ask me for details, my web guy was a dream!), this new site has been up relaunched since the 1st January (wanted to have a definite launch date to see the difference between old and new site) and I've already cleared 400% more in profit since the launch than my old site done in a YEAR!!!!
