conversion rate will not be the same for everyone. some will advertisers will waste money on campaigns and finally give up where some will master this and make ton of money per day. web hosting is a very lucrative field where commission is crazy. for this reason the bid cost is also high. if you are new advertiser, then you might end up paying $5-$7 per click. given that average commission for web hosting is around $90 - $100, you must convert at last 1 out of 10 clicks otherwise you will not make any money. over time your bid cost will go down and you will have more room to play with or more profit for you at the end. btw, only bid on web hosting terms if you are highly experienced in PPC. this niche is not for starters
A good alternative to advertising your web hosting services via PPC is to rent signatures on a web master's forum. They would come to you little cheap in comparison... with very good number of clicks and the members being focused in the web mastering, should ideally convert well as well! Regards, RightMan

To the OP this is a sunset niche with many competitors.The norm would have been people dropping in suggesting to neglect the niche altogether for the given reason.Let me get this straight.There is NO saturated niche.Any niche can always take another player.And it all depends on the PLAYER. To give an example I will talk about your topic which is hosting.What is it that you can do DIFFERENTLY?How about creating a complete turnkey website package and giving out for FREE?!You will also offer to set it up for FREE again.Do you think people would take you up on this offer.You betcha!How do you make money?One of the prerequisites to set up the website is for them to sign up to a hosting service.And guess whose affiliate link will be conveniently weaved into it?;-) You can go on a mass scale with the idea above.You can sign up for a CPA network as an advertiser and offer a certain amount to giveaway your product.Your affiliate commission will determine your CPA pricing for maximum revenue.One of my industry friend who is network owner has someone doing the above idea I presented and is making a killing.A killing in this case is not some 4 figure monthly income but a 7 figure income.You can definitely see the scale there.Think and do things differently and you will always WIN!
Conversion rate won't be the same for everyone. It depends how much experience you have and what kind of PPC SE are you using, your investment, the targeting, etc. As previously said, be careful, you really don't want to enter this niche without being an expert. Good Luck!
