I am running a lead-capture (opt-in campaign) using Adwords. Am I correct in assuming that my conversion rate equals... Number of opt-ins divided by number of clicks on ad. So, if I have 32 opt-ins divided by 97 clicks, then my conversion rate is 32.9%. Is that right? I placed the conversion tracking code on my campaign about a day after it began, so the conversion rate that Google is showing is not accurate. (Google is showing a 9.68% conversion rate.) Have I calculated the conversion rate correctly?
Yes, this is correct your calculation. So what it may be wrong with there: - Conversions report take a to 24 Hours to show correctly at adWords. - Some of your opt-in may be orininated from another source, not from adwords. - You may be using a different time zone from AdWords (pacific Time) to compare the reports. You can see the number of conversions from AdWords point of view by running a report in Adwords and including conversions columns.
Thanks, Micromag. Good to know that my calculations are correct. And you're right, I could be getting traffic from word of mouth or another source.
