Still HTML is the best to design a site and to go to the peoples with ease. But conventional design loosing it future. Other dynamic programming language being highlighted now a days. You're forgetting that those programming languages output HTML so it's going to be around for a while. Also, HTML 5 (despite being a step in the wrong direction) is clearly becoming the future of the markup language, even though it won't be deployable for another 10-15 years or so.
