Hey guys. For past week I have been making articles that are just articles. They were reviews and news! By the way, my site is a game niche!

So yesterday, I made an article and not on purpose, it came to be controversial. I put a link in a forum with a thread about my article and this is what happened!

30 peopled disagreed. 4 people agreed!

So it didn't look good. I'm scared people gonna think my site is crap now. But since that article, I got over 100+ unique visitors!

    So what's the deal?

To me anything that promotes conversation on your blog is a good thing. Don't get me wrong there is a line when it comes to controversial topics so the best bet is to put it out as a question and not a statement

Controversial within reason will help you get traffic. To paraphrases an old saying "I don't care what they say aout me as long as they get the URL right"

I am not agree with that.. controversy can create some traffic at beginning.. but for long term it will damage reputation of your site.. so create a good brand for your site and stay away from controversy and good readers for your site..

It's classic linkbait - I say go for it - as long as you're not being racist or threatening anyone, keep it up, controversy attracts attention. There are loads of dull sites saying the same thing - carve a niche out for yourself by being different.
