Controllable Christmas Lights for Celiac Disease are LIVE

This has been fun for DP'ers in the past, so figured I'd toss a post out here that the Controllable Chirstmas Lights for Celiac Disease are up and running.
    SEMrush
There are three live webcams and X10 powerline control technology system so web surfers can not only view the action, but also *control* the 17,000 lights. Heck, you can even inflate/deflate the giant Elmo, Frosty, Santa, SpongeBob SquarePants, and Homer Simpson – D'OH! ;-)

The website is totally free (and totally fun) and is one of my zany ways of raising awareness & soliciting donations for Celiac Disease Research. My two sons have this condition, so it's personal for me.

If folks are so inclined, you can make an optional donation directly to the University of Maryland Center for Celiac Research. Over $20,000 has been raised with holiday lights - go figure!

So surf on by, tell your friends, blog about it, spread the word, etc.

    Merry Christmas and HO-HO-HO! ;-)
    alek

What a coincidence, I was looking at your site a couple of days, I do not know why, I just did!

Anyway, how does the controlling work?

Glad you guys enjoy the display ... getting a bit of snow right now at the house as can be seen on the webcams.

There is an Christmas FAQ that describes how things works behind the scenes. But basically all you gotta do is click on ON/OFF or INFLATE/DEFLATE - D'OH! ;-)

And there is a donations page that describes how that works.

Cost to run the 17,000 lights is about $3/day ... yes, three ... so about a hundred bucks for the month ... and a ton of fun and Christmas spirit!
