Hi DP members, I had heard from some webmasters, forum posting can help me to generate some traffic but it depends on "what you write in your Signature box?", "What is your site all about?" Etc. I would like to here your views and experiences on this issue. Thanks in advance.
You'd have to be pretty active on a lot of forums to generate traffic this way. I guess it depends on you supplying good forum postings and not just a few here and there. If you develop trust, and you have a lot of quality posts, then ofcourse you will develop a lot of backlinks from each and every signature. Build it up slowly, as a long term strategy it should work ok, but don't depend on it in the short term!
Some of the value of your signature links will be based upon how well you target the forums that you are posting on. For example, if you are selling ribbons and scissors and put up a lot of good posts on an arts and crafts forum you will be much better off than if you post on a sports-related forum.
am not all that senior here, but then i get a lot of hits from dp, perhaps from the profile page, as that's the only place i keep my website! but then my sites is pretty much well established and has a lot of hits from search engines, so dp dosenot makes a great % of hits, still he gives me about 10% of my traffic
It is good to receive 10% of hits from DP. Why I am more curious about it, just because the paid directory owners have good budget for purchasing these signature links. And Actually I would like to buy some links. So your views will make easy for me to taking decision. Thanks for the response so fare.
