    The last great way for free advertising is of course link exchanges or banner exchanges, but most people may say, "But Markus, i don't want to clutter my site up with links and banners?", well you don't have to! Most people will happily display your link on their site if you use another one of your website to display theirs, thus keeping your main site clean. For example, i will ask someone if they can advertise markspixel.com on their site if i display a link to their site on my other website bid-for-links.com, thus keeping my markspixel.com site clean and nice. There are several sites that will do the link exchange work of finding someone to exchange links with for you. However i find these sites unreliable as you will not find people who advertise the same products as you. For example, i would never want to advertise my magic site on a weird looking perscription drug site. I recommend searching for keywords that relate to your site on google and find sites that look to be of the same value as yours and ask them to trade links with you to benefit both persons sites.

    There are of course several other ways of advertising for free, but the topics i talked about are the ones that i have seen to be the most successful. There are also cheap advertising options out there such as permanent links and permanent banners for as low as $1 as seen on sites such as bidding directories like bid-for-links.com. I have also managed to put a permanent banner on free hosting sites or small companies such as geg-rus.com.

    Don't forget your meta tags!!!! These tags are very important for your websites when people search for your site on search engines like google. Better Meta tags will get you better rankings over time helping you rank higher on google and similar search engines. Don't know what a meta tag is? Meta tags will help search engines index your sites better so that people can find you. If you don't use meta tags on your site search engines might not even index your site and completely ignore you, preventing tons of customers from reaching your site and your products and services. Some of the most important meta tags is the description and keyword meta tags. Lets say your site was about web hosting, the tags might look something like this:

    <head>

    <meta name="keywords" content="web, hosting, host, websites">

    <meta name="description" content="Relaible web hosting services">

    </head>

    The meta tags need to be inside the head tag or else they will not show up to search engines properly. Most sites have more than just 4 keywords and you should probably try to think of about 20 or so that describe your site. Do not use to many keywords, or similar keywords, this might be considered spamming by some search engines and they will therefore not index your site. When picking keywords you want to think about what a person might search for when trying to find your site, products or services. You will also want to use some of your keywords on the actual page itself, search engines will look for this and if they find this you will be ranked higher in results. Search engines may penalize you for using keywords that you are not using on your actual page, so be careful. Keeping that in mind you could also use comonly misspellled words as your keywords since it is easier to rank higher using them since other sites would not do so, but do this with caution as well. Another important thing is the title tag, every website you create needs a title tag, and every page of that website should also have one. The title tag is what makes the text in the top blue bar of your browser show up. A title tag is also located inside the header tags and looks like this:

    <title>This is my title</title>

    You want to make the title something descriptive of your page that will attract users as well as tell them about your website. Don't use any type of punctuation or symbols other than dashes. There are lots of sites out there that will help you with creating meta tags and titles, all you need to do is make a google search for "meta tag creator" or something similar.

    This section is done, however i will continue my guide in my next post.
