should one continue to promote old page extensions like .asp when the site will be redesigned to web 2.0 standards? All I know is nother design firm will redesing the site and it will no longer be .asp.

So can I still do social bookmarking, get backlinks; those favorite directory submissions, etc that I don't control. OR will a simple 301 redirect (is this correct) command take care of all that for the old pages & I can continue.

Just 301 the old .asp pages to their non-asp equivalent.
