Contextual Links vs Article Links

    Hi All

I have noticed via my link analysis software, that a well respected, large seo company is doing seo for clients by, from what I can see contextual links on 3rd party websites. Such as "cheap bad debt loans" anchor texts on random unrelated sites with often a low PR (sometimes zero!) - the link are appearing under "Latest Deals" etc...

Now, correct me if I am wrong, but surely becoming an authority on a subject and submitting quality articles with a link back to your site, with relevant keywords in articles, and related blog commenting is (albeit more time consuming) a much better and safer long term strategy in getting high rankings...?

I would understand if for example a finance company wanting to rank high for say "cheap loan" had a hyperlink from a high PR finance related site...but it aint the case...

    Am I missing something?

    Thanks

I think if the seo company is giving you links that are not related to you, it would simply be harm to your business.
also those sites must also be spammed by too many others links, So. I think its better to spend some your time to do things your self, or hire some one to do it manually, else its a waste of time and bucks.

Don't spend money on services that spam your links all over the place. There needs to be relevant content when backlinking sites. Content is king in this day and age, even when it comes to link building.
