Further to my last postings where I asked why google wasnt posting contextual ads on my games page (some stated it takes a while before google recognises what the page is all about)... here's an experiment i tried. the games page in question : www.mehbooba.co.uk/gamezone/ I created a script that randomly picks one of 4 types of adsense ads and displays it underneath the next : Welcome to the Game Zone. One of the largest online games sites where you can play free arcade games, sports games, multiplayer games, action games, puzzle games, flash games and more. Updated frequently. The script is embedded within the games page so it plants the random ad underneath the next. Now as you will see, google is still placing matrimonial ads. Now, if I call the random script on its own : http://www.mehbooba.co.uk/adsenseads/gamezone/home-top/randomads.php and to my surprise it actually displays pretty good relevant ads (games related, eg xbox) even though the page has no text whatsoever.. i suspect its looking at the url ('gamezone'). this has me confused..why it feels it fine to display gamez ads on a completely blank page, yet wont place similar contextual ads on a page which is clearly games related. any comments ?
I'm getting game related in nebraska... Will grab a screenie and post in a second. edit: The only one that isnt games is the romance one...
kemus many thanks. Hopefully google realising the context. did you get what the top adsense was ? (below the text.."Welcome to the Game Zone. One of the largest online games ...") thanks
Consider using "Section Targeting' to ignore your navigation panel, and to increase the weight on the GameZone. However, it can take up to 2 weeks before the Adsense bot comes back to your site to check it's content. Finally, take Mehbooba out of your title. It's probably associated with matrimony, and you really don't need it. Cryo. PS: Add some links to some other game sites...
cryogenius thanks for that advice. I will certainly implement it... the "section targeting" is something i was looking for but didnt know it existed. its exactly what i want to implement. thanks.
