Has anyone tried a contest on a blog to see if its effective? I got $250 sitting in my PayPal that I want to use for marketing, but thinking to hold a contest which might give my blogs a 'buzz' What contest do you think would be most effective? Top commenter (who comments the most on the blog) Random Commenter (Winner will be chosen at random) Review about my blog on contestants own site to enter the chance of winning Link on own site to enter raffle to win Or any other ideas you might have? Or would this not be that effective as i think it can be?
Hi---Advoor: I posted a similar question over on the blogging category, and you have good ideas. Try one of your ideas and see how it goes, that is what i'm doing. I'm holding my very first contest tomorrow on my vegetarian blog, and it is going to be a photo caption contest. As it is my first, i am making it very easy for people to join it. It probably wont get tons of contestants, cause my blog is new, but i am gonna try it and see how it goes. You're welcome to come check it out. I'll check yours out, too. I'm having a contest at the moment here to win $100. I'm trying to use it to get link backs and things are going OK so far. It helps if you have a decent readership to start with. At the end of the day, people love free money.
