I'm still a newb at doing all this stuff online. There are a few questions that I really need answered. I see like alot of contests for logos in the contest section of the DP forum. What do you do with the logo that is made? Do you take that logo and put it in you header or something? Is that what everyone does with the logos they make? Should the logo be in the header? There is alot of great work done that i have seen in that seciton. FOr me... i need a header to be made that will be at the top of my blog.. does that mean i would need a logo or something to be in the header or something? I'm a little confused. I know some of these questions may kinda sound a little stupidd. Its just that i see alot of logo requests in that section and i was wondering what things poeple normaly do with them. To me almost a header and a logo is liek teh same thing. Can someone please clarify all this for me..
what do most people do with the logo? Do a lot of people put it in their header of they have a blog or something? Also... how does everyone separate the logo from the background when someone else makes the logo for you?
Logo is a brand image so mostly it put on the header of the page The logo maker usually use photoshop psd files, the logo is put in separate layer with the background
Just look at the top of sitepoint forum to see the difference. The header is the top area and usually the width of the site. In site point case, their logo is on the left side of the header and an ad is on the right side of the header. Sometimes a header does not always stand out and some do. Sometimes, you will see headers with a different background color than the body. Some headers contain the logo only while other headers may not have a logo at all. Basically the header is an area at the top of the page that usually shows on all pages of the site. While a logo is more of a symbol to help brand your site and if you do put the logo in the header, it will probably show up on every page. Just browse through digital point and you will see the header area pretty much stays the same. The opposite of the header is the footer. Same idea. The footer usually shows up on every page of the site, but the footer is at the bottom of the page and usually contains things like copyright, site name, etc.
