Contest promotion

I've taken the advice from some of the forums and started a contest to attract more visitors to my blog. The details of the contest are listed on my blog and I'd like to attract as many eyes while it is running:

Are there any sites similar to digg which you can submit a blog story in an attempt to get further exposure for this type of news content?

Yes, hundreds if not thousands of these sites are available you might want to start with

Reddit
Sphinn
Google blog search

Just to name a few.

 

Blogging Zoom and Blog Engage will get you some exposure but not much. Perhaps you can trying opening up a contest thread over at the Blogging section on DP to get some exposure.

 

Good advice I'll try that for my contest.

 

Have you also been pinging your blogs? I use pingoat and pingomatic to automatically ping my blogs when I make an update. It is an easy way to make sure that they crawl your blog after you have updated it.
