Contest for an Easy Coloring Book-Style Drawing + $15 Prize AND Earlybird Prizes

I have a website with free math worksheets (Super Teacher Worksheets) and wanted to make a "color-by-number" math worksheet.

Example worksheet from a competitor's site: here <-- Take a look and you'll see the kind of thing I'm looking for.

What should be in the picture? I'd like an original picture of any friendly-looking animal. A dog. A kitty. A parrot. A dragon. Whatever. I'd like it "hidden" so that kids can discover it when they do the math facts and color the picture.

Prizes: $15 for the winner. Plus $5 earlybird prize for the first two SERIOUS entries.

    A few notes:

    • Please do NOT include numbers, math problems, the key, or any words. I will go in an add those myself when I make the final pdf. I just want the picture.

    • Please be sure the lines are thick and bold enough to be seen easily.

    • You CAN color the picture. This will give me an idea of what it will look like when completed. I will go into the picture with Microsoft paint and use the paint bucket to "uncolor" when I add the math problems and make the key. (I will use the colored version in the answer key.)

    • You can use anywhere from 4 to 9 colors in the picture.

    • Please be sure the coloring areas are big enough to fit a large math problem. (The coloring spaces in the sample image above are a little too small. I'd prefer them a little bigger so I can fit 3-digit + 3-digit addition problems.)

    • Picture should be able to fill up an 8.5 by 11-inch paper, but have a little room on top for a key and directions.

    Rules for this contest:

    • Contest ends on or about Sunday, November 30.
    • If I don't like what I see, I reserve the right to extend or cancel the contest.
    • There may be additional work of this type for the winner in the future... if you wish to accept it.
    • $5 earlybird prize for the first two serious entries whose entries meet all of the required criteria.

Be creative and have fun with this one. I know it's a different kind of challenge that's a little different from what people might be used to... I haven't seen any other requests for this type of image before.

I've been extremely satisfied with the past results of my other contests on this site. There is some amazing talent in this forum. :)

Good luck to all who enter. And thanks!

FatPanda & L3fty! These are EXACTLY the kind of things I am looking for! :)

Awesome job on both pictures! $5 earlybird to FatPanda and L3fty!! (Please send me your paypal addresses and I'll send you the $5.)

L3fty - I like how the dragon is hidden i the picture. And there's lots of room for "big" math problems. I would color the background too, but that'll be easy to do in paint when I make the worksheet.

FatPanda - Also, an excellent picture. Love the shape and design of the dog. A few spaces might be too small to fit a Math problem in, but it's definitely an image I could see myself working with.

The contest is off to a great start! Anyone else want to jump in?

FatPanda -- Fish looks awesome. Exactly the kind of thing I need. ANd there's lots of room for math problems in that one!

Zyndtel -- Very cute teddy, but I think I prefer the more random-line style of FatPanda's and Lefty's.

L3fty & FatPanda's earlybird bonuses are paid. Thanks guys!

Note to all -- I didn't mention this in the original post, but I may be picking more than one winner for this contest.

Thanks everyone-- kep up the great entries!

Very cool, Zyndtel... exactly the kind of thing I'm looking for. Love the detail and the style of the design. A few spaces might be too small for a math problem, but I think I can make this one work. :)

    Thanks!
