I have read ebooks on adwords campaigns saying it should always be turned OFF and is full of click theft etc. Then the next ebook says that whoever says this is crazy and you should leave it ON. What is the consensus and WHY?

Ehm.. if you know what you are doing definitely leave it on... Most people who "know" make more money from content than search because of the massive distribution of clicks you can get from it...

Other don't like it for reasons like "using to wide keywords in the same adgroups" so using "dog" in your keywords for content is INSANE + most people do not use "placement targeted" which can yield extremely high ROI's and I can get as low as $0.01 and covert 66% into leads... That's like free traffic, free leads, free income 100% on autopilot...

So I personally love content and couldn't do much business without it.
