That is the answer to most of the questions being asked here.

For those of you who want instant traffic NOW for a crappy or incomplete site, look no further than PPC. That's about the only way you'll get any traffic (paying for it).

For the rest, it's about giving people something interesting or useful.

If you have quality content and lots of it, you will be able to have more success in the following activities:
    - link exchange
    - free incoming links
    - people reviewing your site/product/service
    - front page listings on popular portals and sites
    - more effective PPC campains
    - word of mouth
    - repeat visits and people who bookmark, etc.
    - much more

BUILD CONTENT and stop asking for a magic solution to your traffic problems, it doesn't exist.

Don't plan on getting listed on DIGG, SLASHDOT, COOL SITES, ETC... unless you have GOOD CONTENT!

Nobody want's to visit or link to crap, so don't offer crap... offer real content. Something useful or interesting is going to market itself.

Sorry for ranting like this but for the last several weeks, at EVERY forum I read, people are looking for some magic marketing secret to promote sites without doing any work or offering anything unique or interesting... I just got fed up.

But keep in mind, the real webmasters know this.
The wannabees don't want to know this.

    Honestly, no. :)

That's ok, I might take advantage of the situation and write an ebook about "AMAZING FREE TRAFFIC SECRETS REVEALED, LEARN WHAT THE PROS DON'T WANT YOU TO KNOW!!!" and market it for $47.97, a small price to pay for success. ;)
