Content rich directories

yep niche directories can be easily made useful for regular visitors. This is harder to accomplish for general directories and that's what I am trying to do for rakcha with this approach. I have another approach for enQuira.

 

Nice work mhamdi, worth the effort in the long run.

Just a little thought, probably better if 100 others dont all imitate it, or at least add a little difference here and there otherwise things start looking cloned in certain areas.

Actually thats a good point, a better way of looking at it.

 

I done something similar with www.linksjuice.com a couple of months back, added a short paragraph to all categories. Worked a treat.

I am going to suggest that the big trick will be to develop sticky content,

Content that brings people back again an again,

How does 1 person maintain an refresh this content, difficult, hence, I think tis past time to start generating serious cash , thereby becoming serious businesses

I like what i see in Rakcha,

but in a lot of other directories, is very derivative, useless, content for the sake of content, the kind of material I often reject as being pure MFA iwhen submitted to my directories,

I actually prefer a site to be lean when it hasn't yet got useful material than for it to be filled with

"flannel " masquerading as usefull content

 

Good points, content for the sake of it will have a very limited life.

A fair amount of sticky is better than a ton of unwanted.

 

I added another page for the Food category:
http://www.rakcha.com/recreation/food/
I even added a small affiliate banner relevent to the category.

 

This is always a main thing if you are looking at long term, content never fails. if you see EInternetIndex you will see lots of unique content eg: Lawyers category u will find content in each top category +++ many informative blogs

Actually I am not using an article mod, I am using a feature where every category can have a different template. f you check the food category in rakcha you will see that it is a different template (sidebar) than the one used for recreation (no sidebar)

I will probably write mods for these changes.

 

One of the best work and best directory in the directory business these days in my mind is Rakcha!

And you are doing great with working on content in the directory
