content related question....

I am about to add the text seen on this page:
    http://www.allthepieces.com/weddingresourcecenter.htm
to the bottom of my homepage because it was pointed out to me that my site lacks content.

The text on the lower left of the wedding resource information will all be links to articles that we write, full of keywords, etc.

Now here is my question - what if I was to put that same page on the bottom of several different pages on my site...maybe 7-8 pages. I'm thinking the search engines would penalize me for that, right? Or not, because the top of the page really would be different?

Thanks in advance for any insight.

Ah... I am a bit confused as to what you are adding where but from what I have picked up here and there, duplication is not judged on the text alone but on everything on the page. If it wasn't then sites which used templated header, nav's and footer and had pages with pics but little content would hit the dupe penalty based on their basic page layout.

Still, as I can't even remember where I picked that nugget up from, it will be interesting to hear what other members haveto say about the subject.

That is true - I guess if I back away from the question your response makes a lot of sense.

I'm just skittish about adding the same text to several pages since its a substantial amount of content. But really, it could be just a like a *huge* footer on all my pages. The contents of the existing pages *should* make all the pages appear different enough.

    Right?
