Content...or pages?

I'm wondering whether or not it makes a difference how you spread your content over pages in your website.

Example: Say I have 100,000 words of content I'd like to add to my site. Does it make a difference for Google PR if I spread this content across 1000 pages with each 100 words as opposed to spreading it across 100 pages with 1000 words each. Content is the same, number of indexed pages will be very different.

PR would not be affected as this has nothing to do with number of indexed pages. In my opinion 100 pages would be preferable as those pages would get more content and G is looking for that. To get your PR those 100 pages should be worth linking to, worthwhile content generates links, links generates PR, but more importantly relevant content and links gets you higher in the SERPS and that brings you visitors. And thats what you want.

Forget about PR for a sec, The best thing to do is have pages with not more then 500 words of content, make sure each page has a unique topic or a keyword phrase it is targeting to ensure more SE traffic.

    Make each page user friendly.

If a page is too short it hasn't got enough content to be a worthwhile page. Too much and nobody will read to the end.

I have had a few long pages where google only cached the first half of them - after this I made them shorter.
