Hi, I am having a couple of sites, but because of lack of time, partially i need give up on some blogs, but i will continue developing them from time to time...i don't want them to just sit there un-updated So, what is better for SEO..providing continuously short quality articles or just leave it as it is and spend the time of writing on building quality links?
both of content and link building are important, you sould make it growth together. content first after that link bulding
I agrees to this one.. Divide your time into making quality content, and make less, but better link building
Content is very important than all other my friend. Because through research in SEO, it has been proved that "Content is King" and SEO experts and analysts around the world accept it. Atleast every after two days update it and strictly avoid duplication. Also keep performing link building but never forget to update new and informative content. I would look at content. That's what I think Google looks at first is relevancy. You can then outsource your link building or slowly build it up when time permits. I've had sites that rank on the first page that outranks high PR sites with thousands of backlinks because of the content and keywords in the domain name.
i have a blog, i update the content twice a week, and spending 30 min/day to build backlinks, it works pretty good, i can see the serp rise in the right direction
Thanks for the input, guys I think i will focus on the content...every piece of quality article will increase visibility and a chance to get some natural links and to show up in google for new search terms. ...and in the remaining time i will build some links
Well, for SEO purposes, both are important for a succesful SEO program. However, continuous off-page link-building is what will get you the highest ranks vs. on-page content alone. So, if I had to pick one, it would be the off-page links.
I would say that you should divide your time pretty evenly between them. In my opinion, content is a bit more important, especially for Google rankings.
Content is very important for website but it should unique. Building links is also important to have a good SERP.
To answer your specific question and situation... links are more important. I say this because it sounds like your sites have been around for a while and that you already have a decent amount of content on them. If that is the case then build links if you can and start adding content again once you have the resources.
i see a lot of this kind of question in this forum. why dont you search for it before posting a thread?
actually both has its own importance but for different strategies. As if we look from on page factor then content is the most important thing and from off page's view link building is necessary. So as its obvious that one should go for on page before off page so content has importance than link building.
I aggree with Culvers, you need a good balance. there's no use having all the links in the world if the content visitors see is aweful.
though both are equally important, but for a static site updation does not play a big role but for a blog it is big point for SEO, so I agree with culver to divide your time equally so that both of them get enough time, or you can devote more time on backlinks by reducing the frequency of your posts. Tip: Updated blog is good but there is no hard and fast rule how often you should update
my opinion...content is the king than link building. Visitor will coming to your blog by your content
