My opinions: 1. Exclude Chinese Traffic. As we know, chinese traffic always convert bad. 2. Add "Ask.com" to your "negative sites" list! If you run "Placement performance report", Google won't show you the traffic from "ask.com", but actually there're lots traffic from it and I never see any conversion. I think there "paid to search" pattern may bring you lots of low quality traffic! If you would like to, also add there sites to your negative site list: mysearch.com myway.com mywebsearch.com 3.If possible, track your clicks from content network carefully. I love content network and welcome anybody discuss it with me
I don't know about 'exclude China' - but can it really be a good strategy for anyone to just have 'the whole world' as their campaign, rather than pick the regions that they actually want to do business with? After all, these are the people you are PAYING to come to your site, it makes sense to pick out the regions where you know there are people who a) have access to the payment system you use b) have access for you to deliver the goods or services you sell - if there's a physical component c) have a need for you goods or services where they are d) your price is competitive where they are.
I agree with Magda.. China can work for you. The way I use the content network varies according to client but in general I create three separate campaigns as follows: Content Network - United States only Content Network - Western Europe, Canada (sometimes with U.S. instead), Australia, New Zealand Content Network - All countries not listed above. I then set a different CPC for each geo-target. Usually, U.S. is the highest CPC due to my U.S. clients.
These are great tips. I never have used the content network in the past because a lot of people had said never to use it as it was a waste. I only used it for site targeting and that was pretty much about it. -Brian
Believe me, if your website or landing page is writen in English, please exclude China. The internet users in China do not know English very well. Of course, if you have a Chinese landing page, you may do the business facing China very well. --I had a campaign in China and it brought me more than $2000 per day (Yes, USD!) many months ago.
