Content network on or off

    Hi,
I am new to adwords and have been running an account for about six weeks, I have seen people on this forum talking about running adwords accounts with their adds only served on search not content. What is the thinking behind this and is it a good thing to do.

Any views or opinions would be great.

My personal preference is to have both but under separate campaigns.
Easier to manage them this way

It really depends on your niche and what you're trying to convert. For some niches the content network doesn't convert well while with others it does pretty good. Just test it out and see what your ROI is and then make adjustments from there.

From my own experience the search avenue gets more quality traffic because you can cater towards the bid of your keyword terms. You don't get needless impressions.

It doesn't take long or cost much to experiment so try both content and search.

I would be careful if you are refering to your debt sites as that is an area that anyone could put a site up for (I think I have an old credit card, weight loss, web hosting, mortgage page or two :D ) so your content ads could end up on these made for a quick buck sites and you may have poor quality traffic.
