According to this article https://adwords.google.com/select/afc/practices.html Ad Group: Roses rose red rose red roses rose bouquet flower flowers This is a bit strange (and I have not tested it). How does the algo know to show 'rose' and not all kinds of 'flower'? Does it know that 'rose' is more specific and 'flower' is more general? Has anyone tried this? Feeback, recommendations? steve
The concept of the Content Network is totally different from Search. The keywords above are just a theme, and will place your ad on flower themed sites even though you are pushing roses. Think about it, wouldn't you rather get your ad shown in flower sites in general as opposed to just roses sites? How many flower sites do you think there are vs strictly roses sites. Alot more, and with content network, it isn't as targeted as search so you can experiment with these kinds of themes.
Thanks Split. True that you want more pages to show on (in content network), but unfortunately I have found the more untargeted I get, the lower clickthrus (which increases my cost). There are sites that work well for specific pages, but then I am showing on home page (untargeted) with a lot of page views and little clicks. I have had to resort to phrase exclusion to remove those home pages from inclusion (yikes). But still your point is well taken.. it is a balance. steve
