Content Network - 10 Questions

Lets play a little 20 questions (with only 10 questions to save time) on the content network. I know that there will be a lot more guesses than facts, but answer if you can with your degree of certainty if possible.

    1. Is there a campaign level factor in quality score? Meaning, if I have one good adgroup and one bad one in the same campaign, is the bad one hurting the QS of the good one?

    2. Does your domain's historic ctr factor into quality score?

    3. If so, does your domain's success or failure in search factor into quality score in content? Or for domain purposes do they remain separate scores just like a keyword score?

    4. How does an adgroup's quality score change when keywords are added or deleted? If quality score is determined for an ad group, and I keep the same adgroup but delete or change keywords, I assume the adgroup QS isn't affected? But what if I keep the same keywords and create a new adgroup with them? Point being, isn't content network determined by a "theme" of your keywords? How then can there be a keyword level QS if individual keywords don't trigger the ads themselves?

    5. Is ad copy factored into quallity score? I know it matters for CTR... but does it also matter for quaility score?

    6. Does landing page relevancy matter at this moment? I know it will in the future but what about today? Does it need to be relevant to your adgroup "theme", relevant to your ad copy, or both?

    7. Assume you were in position 1 being displayed on the most relevant pages to your theme.... what would you hope your ctr would be across the content network.

    8. New adgroups seem to serve well for awhile, then low ctr lowers impressions. Is there a routine change you make for the sole purpose of getting the new adgroup "bump" daily or weekly? Like do you submit the same adgroup under a different name after it starts to die? (obviously you are going to be working on better ad copy at the same time)

    9. Divide these keywords into adgroups for content network:

Red Widget, Blue Widget, Buy Red Widget, Buy Blue Widget, Red Widget Review, Blue Widget Review, Red Widget News, Blue Widget News.

Would you create two adgroups one for red, one for blue? Would you group along topic like a group for Buy, a group for the two Reviews etc.? Or would you create a separate ad group for each keyword?

    10. Pulling from the previous question, is it best to just create a bunch of single keyword adgroups? Or will that get less impressions than grouping similarly themed keywords together.

Again, I know opinions will vary, but would like to get yours.

Well, I have failed it... I'm hoping there are some passing grades out there to tutor me.

Just thought it would be nice to have a thorough airing of opinions on some technical aspects of the content network. Hope there are some takers.

Yes, figuring out how to divide keywords into groups for content has beaten me up. If I try single keyword per ad group, I get few impressions, but it also seems like if I get the wrong keywords together in the same group, that it also kills impressions.

Today I started playing with google's keyword suggestion tool, by putting in a url that I would like my ads to appear on and picking the top 3 or 4 suggested keywords. I'm not trying to site target, but figure if I use a page as an example, google might suggest the right combination... and know there are a million other pages out there just like the one I submitted.

I'm stumped. I have like 10,000 keywords in one niche and know that I should be able to get at least 1,000 content adgroups from them, but don't know how to organize them correctly.
