Kings where in the age of empires! Right now we get a democratic system worldwide! because we want to look smart...and others to say "wow what a genius" we don't say votes we say back-links! we don't say Ohhhh .... and until we don't got 2 years indexed in google we don't got the adult age... so nobody give a fx... on us, what do you think?!
I think there IS no king. Without content you will not convert, without rankings you will have no organic traffic to convert. If we MUSt have a king, then let the king be called balance. A balanced site of on page off page work, with quality links, a well laid out set of pages, easily navigatable, clean interface, focused pages, easy calls to action to aid the flow to the end goal of the site, will piss all over a 'content is king ' or a 'Links are king' site. You can buy the best spot on the high street for your shop, but if it is crap inside, people can't get to pay, nothing is priced clearly etc, then your shop will fail. Conversly, a perfect shop with everything laid out well, checkouts clearly marked, everything priced, with information tickets, but located on top of a mountain, is going to attract only the hardened shoppers. This shop located a few doors down from the first shop, is going to fly along though. So there you go, I have created a new phrase BALANCE IS KING
I didn't know the Russians had kings any more, didn't they go out with the revolution. I am assuming your Russian as you have a 'red square '
I have to agree on this. I don't have a performing site yet but I have been reading a lot of threads and visiting countless sites to learn. It really is like setting up a shop. If people don't know the shop exists, then they won't come. If they come in and the shop is a huge mess of a maze, then they leave and don't come back. So reading up on real world business also helps. The internet is just another continent. So it's the same.
Content converts, rankings don't. but it is catch 22, as without rankings you have no one to convert, without content your rankings are wasted. This is why I say there is no king, it is a democracy.
