It is a tall order if you don't know what you are writing about and need to research. If you are very familiar on a topics, then it might be a lot easier.

I dunno, I think I need to post meaningful stuff instead of just 2000 meaningless words. I am highly considering outsourcing my writing. The problem is finding people who could write about topics I need written about.

2,000 words sounds like a lot to me, how long does it take you to write that? It would take me 3 to 4 hours at least. Meh, I'm slow and meticulous and like to edit though.

Yes, another topic, another thread. I guess my only immediate thought to link bait is that as long it has value to the readers (i.e free tool, download, or simply a great piece of content), I have no issue with that at all. Sometimes, I think that link bait (from the marketers point of view) is over rated and doesn't produce the ROI as some other potential marketing tactics.

Thanks for everyone's comments on this thread.

I've not been able to reach my 2000 daily words goal. Here's my approximate word counts in the last three days:

    Day1 800 words
    Day2 800 words
    Day3 1200 words

I think I'll stick with a goal of 1000 words daily. I don't write as fast as I thought. Also, I got a part-time job and I need time to do link building and marketing. By the way, the goal of 1000 words only applies to content on my websites, not forum posts or article marketing.

Here's a couple replies to specific posts.

    webmasterlabor.com,

You seem like you're running a great content production company. I found out about your work at wickedfire. Once I have more money, I might try it out a couple articles.

I think link bait (basically unique, useful content) is gonna be by far the best ROI action for webmasters.

    ,

I see your point. Content creation and marketing definitely go hand in hand. They both build up each other. Great content makes you link worthy and marketing gets the link. Links = traffic. Very simplified, I know, but you get my point.

    Forsh wrote,

That's the problem right there. Where do you find writers that will produce really unique content instead of just rewrites.

Also, I find the act of putting pen to paper helps me figure out what the meaningful stuff is. I don't discount planning a blog post or article, but sometimes "ready, fire, aim" works, too. Then, comes the big questions, do I have time to write x number of words. Well, I realized I don't, but I think I can achieve 1000 words daily.

    Ephemeral wrote,

I realize it takes me more than 4 hours to write 2000 words. That's why I'm down to 1000 word daily goal. I only have a part-time job, so can put in 3-4 hours of writing a day. I write slow, too and I edit a lot. I'm always making grammatical errors. Writing a lot should help me write faster and better. I hope to raise the word count goal in the next couple of weeks.

Since britopian.com brought up the topic of link bait, I started a new thread about it at http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?p=2576487.
