That's very true. "Query Deserves Freshness" the most important part of todays Google Algorithm where i have seen many sites which have reached the top 10 legue only because of the content.
The thing is to have good content. Then bring visitors. If content is good that visitors may share the blog or leave backlink so that visiors bring new ones which bring new ones etc etc
I dont think content alone is the key for SEO but I would say it is definetly half the battle. If you have relevant content and proper keyword density along with back links you will go a long way torwards ranking. There are many factors in getting ranked just content alone will not help if you do not do all the periphrial things that need to be done in order to take full advantage of your quality content. Just my 50c worth folks!
Just start a unique/original (most difficult part hehe) website, do the basic SEO stuff and the site will grow by itself instead of spending your lifetime building backlinks because you want to compete with millions of competitors. Hell yeah, content is king! Content will get the visitors for you. But a number 1 ranking in google with millions unique visitors and crappy can be profitable because loosy company's will advertise on those site because they only look at traffic, not quality traffic. But 'good' content will let websites link to your site itself without begging for backlinks and will get you many bookmarkers. With good original content you can spend more time with your boy or girlfriend, that's no myhte!
For me it's the third result. And "Mobile Blackjack" is NOT a highly competitive keyword as far as Google is concerned. Using their keyword research tool it has 6,600 searches GLOBALLY each month, and has a low competition rating. So, to get third spot on Google for a page of nothing for this site could quite easily be done on back-linking alone. Especially if "mobile blackjack" is used as the anchor a few times. I found all this out in just a few minutes of searching. So, the theory that "content is king is a myth" has again been debunked in this very thread. Content IS INDEED king, but all other methods of site promotion assist in ranking too. Next attempt to convince yourself that you don't need to actually write to create a well ranking site? lol
Yeah i agree with you. Content is king. King cannot do all the things by own. Some Other Support also king needs. That is Why we are here.
Well, it is not a myth in my opinion. If you write content that is worth to be shared, lots of people do the SEO and promotion for you naturally(think about big sites with lots of readers), but if your content is not worth to be shared, only you work on the SEO and promotion of your site. Both ways are profitable, it is up to you which way to go and how much work to put in.
No doubt, the content is important. Unfortunately, many people simple believe just having great content will get readers come running to their site. On the other hand, even when we have not entirely unique content, but good, readable content, good promotion through backlinks, signatures, free giveaways, banner ads etc would help a site to get readership over a period. Nevertheless, building traffic is slow and stead process. One should have patience and persistence.
To me, it's more than just numbers. Good content is for me a matter of being able to feel justifiably proud of a job well done. If lots of people come to my website and find low-quality content, what good is it? What have I added to the overall quality of the world wide web? If they come and find high-quality content, and their lives are bettered by it, then I can go to sleep each night feeling that I've added something to others' lives.
+100 Agreed there. But people who have your principles are few and far between, I'm afraid. Money rules people's heads more than anything else.... Lots have no qualms using autoblogs, copying, or just putting up crap, so long as they make money.
I agree. I also have seen average sites with subpar content and design ranking on the top in my industry. What seperates them from the rest is the quality backlinks and the total Link juice pointing to their site.
I quite believe in content is king, but that does not main that you dont need to market or build link for your website or blog because you have unique quality content. You need unique quality content, unique backlink and good traffic to your website or blog to be on the first of search engines.
i was just talking to someone about this today! i think it is BS too. search something!! look at the top results. now look through a couple pages and i bet you find what you are actually looking for. i have several examples. i have a site ranked #2 for my keywords. its a 2 word keyword. my domain is exact match and it is pinpointed for this one set. ranking #1 is a site with NO seo NO links, just a high PR. it offers the searcher NOTHING they are looking for. we deal with this daily using G
It's not a myth, it is what you're looking for. If you site is about education I thinks the contents is the King. But if your site is about Technologies better just write simple content..just my two cent
May be they have poor english, but the content must be unique. Unique content + Strong backlinks = Good SERP
